moraine lake in spring

Banff National Park, Canada

In the spring Banff National Park's famous Moraine Lake does not look like its famous self. The water level is very low and the lake bottom is exposed. The lake is just starting to fill with glacial melt water so the water is not the usual beautlful turqouise.

Even without the classic features that make this place special, I found the rocks on the lake bottom to be very colourful.

In the summer the water line is all the way to the trees.
